Bandung, October 13, 2025 – The Metallurgical Engineering Department, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) successfully held the Student Paper Competition (SPC) 2025 as part of the International Process Metallurgical Conference (IPMC) series. This competition served as a platform for students to present innovative research ideas in the field of metallurgy, aligning with the main theme of IPMC 2025, “Advancing Sustainable Metallurgy Towards Circularity and Carbon Neutrality.”

The event commenced with an inspiring guest lecture by Prof. M. Akbar Ramdhani, Ph.D., from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, who shared insights on current advancements and challenges in sustainable metallurgical processes. “Optimization of Nickel Pyrometallurgy Roasting Using Exothermic Reaction by CaO Flux with Palm Kernel Shell as Biochar for Sustainable Processing”
