Introduction
The International Process Metallurgy Conference 2025 (IPMC 2025) is a prestigious biennial event organized by the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), with supports from Prometindo and PII BKT Metalurgi. Building on the success of IPMC 2023, which resulted in the publication of 48 Scopus-indexed scientific papers, this year’s conference expands its reach to a truly global scale, providing an international platform for knowledge exchange on the latest advancements in process metallurgy.
IPMC 2025 aims to be a premier forum for academics, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to present and discuss breakthroughs and progresses in process metallurgy. By fostering collaboration and sharing insights, the conference seeks to strengthen industrial networks and synergies, ensuring the continued development and sustainability of the global metallurgy industry. To facilitate this knowledge exchange, IPMC 2025 will feature distinguished keynote speakers and presenters from renowned institutions worldwide, including Curtin University, Central South University, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, Swinburne University, Aalto University, University of Queensland, and McGill University. Additionally, prominent industry leaders will share their perspectives, ensuring a comprehensive dialogue that bridges scientific research and industrial applications.
Aligned with Indonesia’s national agenda on mineral and coal downstream processing, as mandated by Law No. 4 of 2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining, process metallurgy plays a critical role in supporting sustainable resource utilization. IPMC 2025 will address key challenges and advancements in efficient, innovative, and environmentally responsible metallurgical processes, providing valuable insights for the future of Indonesia’s metallurgical industry and beyond.
By bringing together experts from around the world, IPMC 2025 is set to be a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable progress in process metallurgy.
